One thing, and only with your agreement: anonymous usage analytics, through Google Analytics 4 (property G-PC5G5L3L4T). The tag is not requested at all until you accept the consent banner — declining means the script is never fetched, rather than fetched and then told to behave. If you do accept, it records which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, what kind of device and browser was used, and which site referred you.

It does not record your name, your email address, or anything you type. Google truncates the IP address before it is stored, so the location is a city or region rather than an address.

There are two forms on this site: the free store audit request on the home page, and the enquiry form on the contact page. Both do the same thing — they send us an email containing what you typed. Nothing is written to a database, because there is not one; the email in our inbox is the only copy, and you can also just email or call instead and reach exactly the same people.

Either way we hold what you send — your name, your email address, your store URL, and whatever you tell us about your business — because we need it to answer you. It reaches a small number of named people, listed under Who we share it with below. That is processing on the basis of legitimate interests (responding to an enquiry you initiated) and, once we are working together, performance of a contract.

The form carries a hidden field that real browsers leave empty and automated spam tends to fill. If it arrives filled, the submission is dropped and no email is sent. That is the only automated judgement anything here makes about you, it has no legal or significant effect, and if it ever catches you by mistake the email address below still works.

We keep project correspondence for as long as the relationship is live and for six years after it ends, which is the period we may need it for tax and contractual records. Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted within two years. You can ask us to delete either sooner.

Three parties, and no others. Google, as the processor behind Google Analytics. The mail provider that carries our email. And Ads & Scale, a separate company under the same ownership as Lucent Commerce, whose staff are among the people an enquiry reaches — so if you write to us, someone at that company may read it and reply.

We name it rather than leaving it inside “our team” because common ownership does not make two companies one: it is a separate legal entity, and you are entitled to know your enquiry lands there. It is the same handling either way — the message is read, answered and kept as described above, and it goes nowhere else.

We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertising networks, and we have no data-sharing arrangement with any client, supplier or unrelated third party.

Analytics data is processed by Google on infrastructure that includes servers outside the UK and the EEA. Those transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, which Google incorporates into its analytics terms.

If you are in the UK or the EEA, the UK GDPR and the GDPR give you the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you comparable rights of access, deletion and portability, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

Exercise any of them by emailing ecommerce@lucentinnovation.com. We will respond within one month. For a website visitor the honest answer is usually that we hold nothing that identifies you; the analytics data is not linked to a name and we cannot single you out within it.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, you can complain to your local data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.

This is a business-to-business site with nothing on it aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.

This policy is about this website. The four apps we publish — Simply OTP Login & Notify, Simply Shipping Protection, Simply SEO Agent and Reverto — process merchant and shopper data inside a Shopify store, which is a different relationship with different obligations. Each one has its own privacy policy, linked from its Shopify App Store listing, and that is the document that governs it.

The date at the top of this page is the last time it changed. It changes when what we do changes — the forms gaining a backend was one such change, and this page moved with it rather than after it.
