Chicco: Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify
Chicco, the global baby and kids brand, wanted a full Indian store for its Indian customers. Its India site ran on Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and we replatformed it to Shopify with every product detail, warning, feature, image and review carried across, and with its stores, loyalty program, warranty registration and replacements connected.
IN SHORT
- Chicco is a global baby and kids brand that wanted a full-fledged store for its Indian customers, and its India site was on Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
- Lucent Commerce replatformed it to Shopify, migrating product details, warnings and instructions, features, images and reviews so nothing a shopper relied on was lost.
- The product page keeps what Chicco wanted to show: frequently bought products, advice articles and a replacement offer.
- Chicco's physical stores, loyalty program, warranty registration and replacements and refunds were connected, and we have handled landing pages and maintenance since launch.
The challenge
Chicco makes strollers, car seats, feeding gear, clothing and baby care, and for most of those products a parent reads a lot before buying. A stroller page has to say how it folds, what comes in the box and what the safety warnings are. A parent who cannot find that on the page goes to a shop or another site.
Chicco is a global brand, and its India site had grown on Salesforce Commerce Cloud. The team had to decide how to move it to Shopify without losing anything: the product details, the warnings and instructions, the features and the images, and the reviews customers had written. It also had to keep the services around the product working: local stores a customer can search, replacements and refunds, a loyalty program and a warranty registration that records who bought what.

How we approached it
- 01
Plan a migration that loses nothing
We worked out with Chicco what each product carries and where it lives: details, warnings and instructions, features, images, and reviews, so the new store showed everything the old one did.
- 02
Migrate the catalog and its content
We migrated the products with their details and features, warnings and instructions, and all their images, and checked the data against the old store so what a shopper saw on Salesforce Commerce Cloud was on Shopify.
- 03
Bring the reviews across
We carried the reviews to the new store, so a product kept its history of customer feedback.
- 04
Rebuild the product page as a guide
The product page lists the features, then product details and warnings and instructions, then the most purchased products to buy alongside, and advice articles written by Chicco, such as a guide to choosing a stroller.
- 05
Connect the services around the product
We connected the store search for Chicco's physical stores, replacements and refunds (the product page promises a seven-day replacement), the loyalty program, and the warranty registration pages, with the warranty data collected so Chicco has a record of who bought what.
- 06
Stay on after launch
The same team has handled landing pages and day-to-day maintenance since the store went live.
A product page that does not lose anything
Look at the Dolomiti stroller page. The price is shown inclusive of taxes, with an estimated delivery date and a seven-day replacement offer beside it. Below the add to cart button, six short points describe the wheels, the seat, the hood, the fold, the fabrics and what comes in the box, and two sections open to full product details and warnings and instructions.
Under the product sit two things Chicco did not want to lose: a Most Purchased row of other products shoppers buy, such as a car seat and other strollers, and an Our Advice row of articles on choosing and using baby gear. They keep a shopper reading and comparing instead of leaving to look elsewhere.
The services behind the page are linked from the same store: a loyalty program in the top menu, a warranty page where a customer registers a purchase, a store page for the physical shops, and the replacements and refunds policy.
The result
Chicco's Indian customers now have a full store on Shopify, with the product content, reviews, store search, loyalty program and warranty registration they had before. Revenue has grown by about 20% since launch, on Lucent's account.
Because the loyalty program, the warranty registration and the replacements policy are part of the same store, Chicco can keep adding products and campaigns without rebuilding the services around them.

Questions about the Chicco migration

Product details, warnings and instructions, product features, product images and customer reviews.
How are most purchased products and advice shown?
