A campaign page is a rearrangement of blocks you already own, published by a marketer in an afternoon. If it needs a developer or a page builder app, the theme is the problem.
Nested loops, metafields inside iterations, and filters recomputed 200 times. The patterns that make a theme slow on the server, and why that is usually not your worst problem.
Peak monitoring is not analytics with a faster refresh. It is four signals, a written threshold under each one, and a named person whose job is to say something out loud.
Every speed project is the same three decisions applied to every file the page asks for. Most of them start with the wrong one.
The instinct is to clone: a second store, or a second product record per country. Shopify separates availability, price and language from the product itself so you do not have to.
Points schemes mostly reward people who were coming back anyway. The things that genuinely drive repeat purchase are duller and harder to install.
A tier is a discount you have promised in advance to the people most likely to buy anyway. Work out what it costs before you name it after a metal.
Half of a metafield definition can never be changed after you create it. That half is a published interface, and treating it like a settings screen is how catalogs end up with three fields that mean the same thing.
Metaobjects are a database you design once and query for years. The query surface is narrower than the modeling surface, and that is the thing to design around.
A definition, a section setting and, only sometimes, a template. The decision that matters is whether the content deserves a URL of its own.
You cannot move a subscription. You move a plan definition, a payment credential and a schedule, and only one of those three can actually stop you.
